The Raspberry Pi team has announced the availability of the Raspberry Pi 500, which is a neat little computer in a keyboard. But I’m actually more excited about the accessory that they announced alongside it — the Raspberry Pi Monitor.
It’s a 15.6-inch 1080p IPS display with integrated speakers and HDMI input that is powered over USB.
I think I’m going to be adding this to my Christmas list this year. I think a semi-portable monitor would be handy to have. I can imagine connecting it to game consoles, using it as a second display for my work laptop, or using it when with my home servers when there is a need for deeper troubleshooting than what I’m able to over VNC.
