Is Safari Now a Bad Web Browser? ➝

Nicolas Magand:

Today, after nearly 20 years of loyalty to Safari, I’m considering switching to another default browser on my personal computer. I mean, why is it so hard to watch a YouTube video without hiccups, and why can I only choose from a selection of 4 search engines, including three Bing-based?

The search engine limitation is one of the main reasons I’ve switched from Safari on my iPhone. I tried using the xSearch extension, but there were times it just didn’t work as expected. I ended up switching to Firefox for a bit and then moved to Brave, which is what I’m using today.

I’ve stuck with Brave because of its built in ad blocker, support for my preferred search engine, and the ability to sync with Brave on my Linux install.
