What Could Have Been ➝

Derek Kessler got his hands on a webOS prototype that was codenamed “WindsorNot.” It was scheduled to be released after the Pre3 in late 2011 but, unfortunately, never saw the light of day.

TouchPad to Include Cloud-Syncing Music Store ➝

Derek Kessler reporting for PreCentral:

the TouchPad will come with a music syncing solution built-in that utilizes cloud servers to sync and remotely store your music. More than that, it will leverage a “smart algorithm” to ensure that the music the user is most likely to listen to is cached locally on the device. This service will also allow TouchPad owners to stream music that they don’t yet own. There’s also mention that this service will allow you to stream music to HP smartphones, presumably once they too are updated to webOS 3.0 like the TouchPad.

webOS 3.0 Screenshots ➝

Speaking of webOS, Derek Kessler has published several screenshots of the HP TouchPad variant of webOS 3.0.

New Palm ‘Roadrunner HD’ Device Appears in Logs ➝

PreCentral.net’s Derek Kessler reports that the developer of Cloud Hopper for webOS has noticed something interesting in their application logs. A new device running webOS 2.0, identifying itself as “Roadrunner HD,” with a display resolution of 640×960.

The name “Roadrunner” has appeared in logs before but never with the HD moniker and certainly without a 640×960 display resolution.

webOS is dying for new hardware and a device with a higher resolution display wouldn’t hurt. Nothing else is known about the Roadrunner HD at this point but I’m anxiously awaiting more leaked details in the future.
