iPhone 7 Smart Battery Case ➝

I used Apple’s Smart Battery Case on my iPhone 8 during a work trip to New Orleans last week. I’m don’t plan on using an iPhone case in my day-to-day, but for trips, this thing is fantastic. It gave the device a bit of extra heft for taking photos, allowed me to use my iPhone all day without worrying about battery life, and I didn’t have to worry about dropping it while I’m out-and-about.

If you’re in the market for a case or want something to use to extend battery life while traveling, Apple’s Smart Battery Case is an excellent product.

Using the iPhone Naked ➝

Roberto Mateu spent a week without a case on his iPhone 6s:

I have to say… while still slippery as hell, forcing myself to use the phone without a case is very nice. It’s so much easier to get in and out of my pocket, and feels much more sleek in the hand. I also enjoy being able to reach the screen borders for easier gestures. It has made me use the 3D Touch of the left corner to switch apps much more natural than before.

I’ve used various models of iPhone since the day of the original’s launch in 2007. I have never used a case on any of them and have never regretted it. In my honest opinion, it’s the only way to go.

Apple Releases iPhone 6s Smart Battery Case ➝

From the product page:

Charge your iPhone and battery case simultaneously for increased talk time up to 25 hours, Internet use up to 18 hours on LTE, and even longer audio and video playback. With the Smart Battery Case on, the intelligent battery status is displayed on the iPhone Lock screen and in Notification Center, so you know exactly how much charge you have left.

This was a bit of a surprise.

Free iPhone 4 Case Program Starts ➝

Jim Dalrymple reporting for the Loop:

According to Apple, for iPhone 4 purchases made before July 23, 2010, you must apply no later than August 22, 2010; otherwise, you must apply within 30 days of your iPhone 4 purchase. To qualify for this program, you must purchase your iPhone 4 by September 30, 2010.

It was quite clever of Apple to have iPhone 4 owners claim their free case through an application, no need to type in serial numbers, just login to your iTunes account or Apple ID and choose your case. Case choices include offerings from Belkin, Griffin, Incase, Spek, or Apple’s own Bumper.

Apple has also published details on their case program page for those seeking refunds for bumpers they have already purchased.
