From the announcement:
Nintendo of America is excited to announce the Customer Appreciation Sale, one of our largest promotions ever, featuring 30% off dozens of Nintendo Switch digital games and bundles, plus savings on select physical games, downloadable content, accessories, amiibo, and apparel.
The sale runs from September 12 through September 26 across Nintendo eShop, Nintendo Store, and participating retail locations.
Nintendo games rarely go on sale, so I’ve taken this opportunity to buy a couple — Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
I already own both of them digitally, but I want to own physical copies of them, too. I regret going all-in on digital purchases with this generation. Currently, I’m planning to re-purchase my favorites on physical cartridges.
One of the main reasons I want to have physical copies of my games is because it’s so much easier to share them. Yes, you can do the virtual cartridge thing, but that requires a Nintendo account. And the person I’m most likely to share with is my seven year old and I’m not ready for him to have a Nintendo account yet.
