Amongst all of the other rumors in Mark Gurman’s latest piece for Bloomberg:
An upgraded Home app as part of the company’s smart home push will be more integrated with security cameras and have the ability to view past recordings.
The two biggest changes I’d like to see in the Home app:
- Reduce the temperature range on thermostat controls: It’s far too difficult to make minor adjustments of just a degree or two.
- The ability to name automations: I only have nine automations setup in the Home app and I already have a difficult time determining which is which. How do users manage with dozens of automations?
There’s plenty of other neat little features in Gurman’s list, but those two Home app features is really all I’m hoping for this year.
