Here’s my devices ranked based on their internet connections’ importance:
- iPhone
- iPad
- Apple TV
- Mac Mini
- MacBook Air
I will say it’s pretty close between my iPhone and iPad. We had an internet outage in my area a few weeks ago and I had to spend about six hours with my iPhone being my only connection. I could get by and do everything I needed to, but I really wished I could use my iPad instead — the extra screen real estate comes in handy with practically every application. But in the end the iPhone wins out because it’s the computer I always have with me.
As for the rest of the list, I know I’d miss my connection on the Apple TV before either of my Macs. Most of what I do takes place on iOS devices these days with the only exceptions being heavy-duty image editing, server management, or a few other oddball, rarely necessary tasks. There’s times when I go days without waking my Macs from sleep, but we use the Apple TV every single day.
