Sources familiar with Apple’s plans tell BuzzFeed News the company intends to hold a special event the week of Sept. 7, with Wednesday the 9th being the most likely date. The day before this rumor broke, I suggested on Twitter that Apple would likely be announcing new iPhones on September 8 with a release date of September 18. I was pretty close. But I wasn’t expecting Apple to announce new iPads until October.
