Paul Farhi reporting for the Washington Post:

The Washington Post Co. agreed Monday to sell its flagship newspaper to Amazon.com founder and chief executive Jeffrey P. Bezos, ending the Graham family’s stewardship of one of America’s leading news organizations after four generations.[…]

Seattle-based Amazon will have no role in the purchase; Bezos himself will buy the news organization and become its sole owner when the sale is completed, probably within 60 days.

I still think there is a huge opportunity to build a successful news business. I’ve had casual conversations with friends and family about how it could be done, and I think Jeff Bezos is the kind of guy who could do it. I’m interested to see what changes he makes to how the Washington Post runs.
