He says that he has had it enabled for two weeks on his device and hadn’t noticed any considerable difference in battery life. Battery life has been my biggest concern about geofencing and I’m happy to hear that it doesn’t impact it in any meaningful way.

Using geofencing to allow applications to periodically update data is quite clever. And, I’d love to see more apps follow suit — Sparrow, Tweetbot, Instacast, and Sunstroke are just some of the apps I’d love to see utilize this feature.
