Going against the trend of Android-based handsets, HP has announced the Veer, a credit card sized webOS device that features a 2.6-inch display and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. If there’s one complaint I’ve heard about the iPhone from my girlfriend it’s that it’s too large.
I have a feeling the Veer will look incredibly attractive to a large portion of of the market that would prefer a smaller handset. It’s a market segment that no one else is serving and I think the Veer will do well because of it.
It’s like the iPod nano of smartphones.
