CrunchGear reports that Netflix members with an internet-connected Wii can now stream content from the company without the need to use the Netflix disc. The new Netflix channel is available at no cost from the Wii Shop channel and is available immediately.

I’ve been watching Netflix streaming on my Wii with the disc for several months and have only been using the new channel for the past couple of days but can already say that the new Netflix channel is a significant improvement over the disc method. Not only can you skip the tedious disc swapping, the new channel also allows you to search for streaming movies and TV shows and makes browsing for titles much easier.
