Apple:

White models of Apple’s new iPhone® 4 have proven more challenging to manufacture than expected, and as a result they will not be available until the second half of July. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.

I think everyone assumed that Apple was having manufacturing issues with the white iPhone. The writing’s been on the wall ever since it was leaked that Best Buy wouldn’t have white models at launch.

The black iPhone was obviously going to be the more popular of the two, but I have to admit that the white version has started to grow on me.
