I still haven’t mentioned anything about Apple’s announcement of iMovie for iPhone at WWDC. Although I find it to be an interesting move forward, I really don’t think most people will edit video on their iPhone (at least not until things get a little more powerful).
Jeff Carlson wrote a piece in TidBITS revealing more details about the upcoming app, including what devices it will run on:
iMovie for iPhone will require the iPhone 4, and not be available for the iPhone 3GS. Handling video and creating real-time transitions needs the power of the iPhone 4’s A4 processor.
The demo of iMovie looked great on stage, but I’m going to reserve judgement until I get a chance to try it out myself. iMovie for iPhone will be available for $4.99 in the App Store on June 24.
