Apple has released their Find My iPhone application for the iPhone and iPad. The application is free and let’s MobileMe members find their devices from another iPhone or iPad.
The application is well designed and does what it needs to, however I really wish Apple didn’t remove access to Find My iPhone through Mobile Safari. Before this application was released you could access Find My iPhone through the iPhone or iPad’s browser, this is no longer the case and now if you want to use the service on an iOS device you’ll have to install the application.
I know I may be in the minority here, but I prefer to keep as few applications on the device as I can. Removing the ability to access Find My iPhone through the browser is a bit of a let down. But, at least with iOS4 I can just throw it in a folder and forget about it until I need it.
