Apple Hires Games Editor From IGN ➝

Apple has hired IGN’s Matt Casamassina to serve as the global editorial games manager for the App Store. Casamassina has been reviewing games for 13 years and is known as a great source for information about Nintendo.

Casamassina writing in his weblog:

I will be leading the charge for games on the App Store, so whether you browse through iTunes, iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, the games content you see will be handpicked and organized by me and my team. I couldn’t be happier.

This is a great move for Apple and it will certainly help the well-made games bubble to the top. The App Store has been featuring games since the beginning, but hiring someone who knows a lot about games will certainly improve their featured selections.
